About Me
I am a classically trained film composer (ArtEZ Conservatory) and focus mainly on music for documentaries.
In addition to compositions for radio, television and cinema and commercials, I have also produced music for artists such as "Project United", "Jo Samuels" and "Gabi Saler".
I am also a sound engineer with a background in jazz, rock and classical music.
My Workflow
Understanding the project always comes first. Once I understand the vision of the project, there are several ways to compose the music:
Depending on the size of the project, I can work alone and produce music using only samples and virtual instruments.
For larger projects, I prefer to work with real musicians and a professional production team to ensure an efficient workflow.
Creating Emotion
My aim is to create or change the mood of a scene. I believe that film music should not just " duplicate" an existing mood, but create another layer of emotion.
Like cinematography, color, costume design, editing and sound design, music is "just" another tool to help the filmmaker create a complete work. The emotions before and after the use of music in a scene should be different.
